Job Description: Mission Communications Specialists
Job Summary: We are seeking a versatile communicators to join our team as Mission Comms Specialists. In this role, you will create engaging narrative content for our email newsletters and blog to share with our community, supporters, and friends the impact and experiences the Sailing Psalms onboard crew are cultivating around the world. Your work will involve crafting captivating narratives, editing and proofreading, designing visually appealing newsletters, and adapting the content for blog publication with the ultimate purpose of fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20). Responsibilities:
Develop captivating content for email newsletters, including stories, updates, photos, and videos related to the missionary adventures of Sailing Psalms.
Collaborate with the team to gather information and stories for newsletters and blog posts.
Edit and proofread content for clarity, grammar, and consistency.
Design visually appealing newsletters aligned with Sailing Psalms' branding guidelines.
Optimize newsletters for different email platforms and ensure mobile-friendliness.
Monitor performance metrics of newsletters and analyze engagement.
Adapt newsletter content into engaging blog posts, focusing on SEO optimization and audience engagement.
Conduct research and fact-checking to enhance the blog content.
Collaborate with the design team to create visually appealing blog posts.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in email marketing and blogging.
Requirements:
Proven experience in content creation, preferably in email marketing, newsletters, and blogging.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail and grammar.
Strong storytelling abilities and the capability to transform complex information into engaging content.
Proficiency in email marketing platforms, newsletter creation tools, and basic HTML for email formatting.
Familiarity with graphic design principles and experience collaborating with design teams.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Passion for mission work, sailing, or adventure is a plus.
